Modern crystal chandelier can be relatively simple and easy to handle, or extremely ornate and heavy, dripping with dozens of crystals. If you are unsure how much your chandelier weighs, ask a friend to help you remove it from the ceiling. Whatever size, a chandelier should be packed carefully and never left as a last minute job. Before turning off the chandelier, make sure you have all the accessories you need and there is another light source in the room that the chandelier is removed from.

Place a thick towel on the work surface. Turn off the power and remove the chandelier from the ceiling. Place all screws and small barges in a plastic bag with a secure seal. Close the bag and label the “chandelier hardware.” Place the modern crystal chandelier on the towel. Remove any lampshades, light bulbs or other removable parts from the chandelier. You can also remove the individual crystals if they can be chopped without damaging their threads or anchor in the chandelier. Put all shades aside and throw the bulbs if they are old, or place them in a crush safe container if you want to keep them. Keep all the chandelier parts.
Continue until the entire lamp is wrapped. Put a foam pad in the bottom of the box and put the modern crystal chandelier on top of it. Include all wrapped chandelier pieces and the bag of hardware. Fill the box with packing material such as peanut peel or popcorn. Fill each plot of angles and twist with packing material so that the chandelier securely puts in place. Leave enough space at the top for the second foam pad. Put the pillow in place and close the box. Tape again with tape and write REMOVAL on each side of the container. Be sure that you can safely handle, load and unload a crystal chronicle before packaging or move it yourself. Many professional moving companies are available for handling individual items without binding you to a full range of services. Ensure all valuable items before packing and moving. Do not pack other boxes on top of your crystal chandelier or shades.
