Inn Love

September 16th, 2011

Yesterday was a kind of “throw your hands up in the air” kind of day. I’m currently in Atlanta to shoot a wedding for a couple that I j’adore and yesterday we met to do their engagement photos. Sounds simple enough, right? Oh, but wait…

A few months ago while scouting locations in Atlanta, I came across the most perfect little Inn mine eyes had ever seen. I emailed the bride about doing their engagement photos there and within moments she responded with just as much excitement as I felt. Sidenote: I love my brides and how willing they are to try anything. Neither of us had ever heard of the city but we figured we’d give it a try. Well, well, well… after driving for about 1.5 hours yesterday to meet them, my phone and GPS died. DIED. In the middle of nowhere. No warning, no apology. A wave of panic mixed with flashes so hot they would have made tobasco sauce jealous, rushed over me as I thought of pulling over and making the world’s largest S.O.S. sign in the dirt. By the grace of God and my hands fiasco, I managed to flag down a police officer kind enough to give me directions and confirm my suspicions about this Inn being conveniently located between nowhere and impossible. BUT. Oh, glorious but. As I pulled up to the Inn, its charm proved worth every bit of frustration as every nook and cranny was simply perfection. And my couple? I’d get lost with no GPS and cell phone any day for them. I’m so excited for their beautiful wedding tomorrow and just as excited to share the photos with you all! Happy Friday and since I love a blog post with photos, here’s my beautiful couple at the lovely Inn.
