Last week was a crazy beautiful week filled with exciting news and count your lucky stars moments. Things are moving fast and I’ve been so caught up in all the things I need to do that I haven’t had a moment to sit back and let it all soak in. So this morning, rather than the usual wake-up-&-get-straight-to-work-but-first-brush-your-teeth routine, I took some extra time. Even though I’m seeing all sorts of progress happening, my mind never stops to just reflect; to count my blessings and realize how good life really is, professionally and personally. You may have heard me mention my “list” of things to do oh, say, a thousand times, but it dawned on me this morning (no pun intended) that the list isn’t the most important thing in life. That actually, taking out a few extra moments for prayer, or a walk around the lake, or even a few extra calories at breakfast is okay because it’s in those moments that life happens in a much more beautiful way than lists and editing and shoots and emails. Hard work is extremely important to me and it’s always been my nature to take whatever steps necessary to achieve my dreams, but this morning, I realized that I want my dreams to be much more than just owning and running a successful business. At the end of the day, if all I’ve done is just that, then I haven’t dreamt enough and I haven’t lived enough. So this week, and hopefully in weeks to come, I’m going to make more of an effort to look at my life as a whole and just be thankful for it all—extra moments in the morning, my family, our health, photoshoots, editing, date nights with my husband, my beloved blog—all of it. I’m going to make myself more goals to dream about who I want to be rather than just what I want to be. I’m going to make lists that will help me define professional goals as well as personal goals. And most importantly, I’m going to take extra moments throughout my day and just. live. life. fully.
In the last few days I’ve been featured twice in Style Me Pretty and really, my heart explodes with gratefulness—not just for the features but for my crazy cool clients who I can now call my friends. You can see Felicia’s Wedding Shower feature here.
