Bumbo Floor Seat – The Bumbo chair made its appearance a few months ago in my house, just before the arrival of my third baby. My sister-in-law passed me the Bumbo chair that her baby already stopped using and since nobody gives her bread to cry, I accepted it. She immediately warned me that they are not safe but we have not had any incident at home to date. The Bumbo seat is a comfortable and soft infant chair that is constructed according to the baby’s individual posture. It provides a secure place for the infant to sit and communicate with people.
During the developmental period of 3-6 months, infants move towards greater mobility. They roll from front-to-back, pull up on their forearms, lift their heads and chest, and drag themselves on their bellies while pulling themselves forward to help initiate crawling. In the United States, a campaign was launched to voluntarily “withdraw” Bumbo chairs from the market for several years. This initiative allows customers to fill out an online form to receive a repair kit that includes a seat belt and a warning label that clearly states that the Bumbo floor seat should not be used on raised surfaces.

Remember that the Bumbo chair is designed for use on the floor only. I know it’s obvious, but many moms, including some of my friends, put their babies on the table, on the kitchen counter, or on the dining chair while their babies are sitting on the Bumbo. When it comes to our babies, it is important to always use common sense with any product we use and I personally, I never turn my back on my baby for more than 30 seconds when sitting in his Bumbo floor seat, on the swing, gym, high chair or recliner, or any other product that swear and be safe and provide me tranquility.
